Now that You are Born Again
|
|
When you accept Jesus into your heart by faith as your personal Lord and Savior,
you become born again. As a born again Christian, your life is now new. Some of
the new realities in your life as are revealed in the Scriptures are as follows:
You are now a new person in Christ Jesus.
You are now recreated in the image of God. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Cor 5:17).
Your sins have been forgiven.
You are now pure before God. All your sins have been washed away.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sin NIV (Col 2: 13).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 Jn 1:9).
You are now spiritually alive.
When you were living in sin, you were spiritually dead. That means that you were separated from God. But now, you are spiritually alive and can communicate with God
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1).
You are now a member of Gods family.
Immediately you accept Jesus into your heart, you become a child of God. God is now your Father, and you are His son or daughter.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (Jn 1:12).
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 Jn 3:1).
You are now made righteous before God.
You are now accepted, loved and favored by God. You can now stand before Him without any sense of guilt, condemnation and inferiority. The righteousness you now have is not yours. It is the righteousness of Jesus that has been imputed to you.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21).
You now have peace with God.
When you were living in sin, you were Gods enemy and were subject to His condemnation and punishment. But now that your sins are forgiven, you have peace with God. You can now receive Gods blessings and enjoy a friendly relationship with Him.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 5:1).
The Spirit of God now resides in you.
The Spirit of God enters into your heart and resides in you immediately you accept Jesus into your heart by faith. He is the one that does the transformation work in your life.
Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Rom 8:9).
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God (Rom 8:15-16).
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Cor 6:19).
