DELIVERANCE
FROM SATANIC BONDAGE
Key Passage: Exodus
2:
23-25
Now it happened in the process of time that the
king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because
of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God
because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning, and God remembered
His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God
looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.
Deliverance is an exercise to rescue one from the
dominion and oppression of Satan through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The purpose of deliverance is to free the victim from the bondage of
Satan so that he could live a fruitful and a fulfilling life.
The people of Israel were in bondage in Egypt for 400 years. At the
peak of their travail, they cried bitterly to God to deliver them.
God heard their cry and called Moses to deliver them. He equipped him
with His miraculous power and sent him to Egypt to challenge the authority
of Pharaoh and set Israel free from his bondage.
Bondage holds people back from their destiny, destroys their dignity
and frustrates their fortunes. Could you imagine a people chosen to
serve the Almighty God and promised a land of milk and honey, enslaved
in a cursed land and serving a cruel human king? That is what bondage
could do to a people, a family or an individual.
God does not want any of His people to be under bondage. He wants them
to be free so that they can serve Him with their best (Lk 1:73-75).
The journey of deliverance begins with the person recognizing that
he is under bondage, and follows with a deep hunger for freedom and
an earnest resolve to turn away from his sinful ways. Some people seek
for deliverance, yet they wallow in immorality, corruption, hate, greed
and unforgivingness. Some others get involved in idolatry, sorcery,
occultism and such like. These could hinder their deliverance and strengthen
the hold of Satan over their lives. Such people should truly repent
from their sins, depart from them and cry to God for their deliverance.
Turn to God today with all your heart and call on Him to set you free
from every shackle of hell. Pray that the power of the Holy Spirit
would come upon you and break every yoke in your life. You will surely
experience that freedom that only God could give.
Pray: Lord,
I repent from every sin and turn my heart to You; set me free from
every bondage and make my life fruitful and fulfilling that I may
serve You at my best.
