THE TRUE PATH OF LIFE

Key Passage: Psalm 1:1-6

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

“Blessed (Happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable)” –Amp. This is what every one of us desires in his or her life. The way to receive this all-round blessing is by living a godly life and abiding in the word of God.

In our world, we are constantly faced with temptation to do the wrong things. These are things that ungodly people indulge in, but which are contrary to the will of God. They deprive one of the blessings God has promised those who walk with Him, and bring curses and woes to ones life.

No one is beyond temptation. Satan, the tempter, devices a lot of ways to entice and mislead people, but God expects us to resist him if we are to enjoy His goodness on earth. Adam and Eve yielded to temptation and were condemned and ejected from the Garden of Eden. But Jesus, when he was tempted, refused to yield. He overcame Satan by the word of God (Matt 4:1-11).

The word of God is a powerful instrument of victory against Satan and his kingdom. When you know the word of God and live by it, you experience constant victory and enjoy the full blessings of the Lord. The true mark of a person who walks with God is that he delights in the word of God – he meditates on it day and night, and lives by it. That person’s life is fruitful, prosperous and fulfilling. It flourishes like a tree planted by the rivers of water (Ps 1:3). May that be your testimony in Jesus name.
