THE INVISIBLE HAND OF THE ALMIGHTY

Key Passage: Ezekiel 17: 8-11

Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said to Joshua, "Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. "So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

God is invisible, but His power is manifest throughout the earth. Though we cannot see Him, but it is only a fool that denies His existence and power. The Scripture reveals that ever since God created the world, His invisible qualities, both His eternal power and His divine nature, have been clearly seen: they are perceived in the things that God has made (Rom 1:20 GN).

It is interesting to know that the world is not ruled from the United Nations Building in New York or from the White House in Washington DC, or from the palaces of the Presidents and Heads of States of the world. It is ruled from Heaven. There is a mighty invisible hand that rules peoples, nations, kingdoms and kings. That is the hand of the Almighty God, the King of Heaven (Ps 103:19).

When the Amalekites attacked Israel, Joshua went to the warfront with thousands of the mighty soldiers of Israel. But the battle was fought and won at the background. On the mountaintop, Moses stood with hands lifted up, to bring to bear the invisible hand of God on the battle. When Moses’ hands were weary and came down, Amalek prevailed. But when his hands remained up, Israel prevailed. When it was propped up with stones by Aaron and Hur that the hands remained up, Israel vanquished their enemies.

We need to bring to bear the invisible hand of God in every situation of need in our lives. We must all acknowledge that we cannot face all our life battles in our own strength. Moreover, there is a spiritual side to every situation we face in life. It is only in bringing to bear the invisible hand of God through faith and prayer that we can always guarantee our victory.

Pray, Lord, stretch out your invisible hand over every situation in my life, and grant me victory in Jesus name.
