Key Passage: Isaiah
55: 1-3
"Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to
the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes,
come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why
do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for
what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what
is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline
your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And
I will make an everlasting covenant with you—The sure
mercies of David.
God is full of goodness, and His love for mankind
is incomparable. The greatest treasure God has offered to every
man living on earth is His grace. That grace is available to all,
both old and young, male and female, from every nation, race and
tongue.
Grace is unmerited favor. It is undeserved mercies.
The grace of God reveals the nature of God as a loving, caring,
merciful and faithful Almighty Benevolent One who spreads all His
goodness to the ones He made in His own image. He is calling you
to come and drink from the fountain of His mercies and dine on
the banquet table of His love. Whatever is your need, come to Him
and He will satisfy you.
The world cannot truly satisfy man’s needs.
Men are spending so much energy and resources to get wealth, power,
influence, fame, honor, comfort and pleasure. But no one having
lusted for these things and obtaining them has ever been satisfied.
They have proved to be vanity and vexation of spirit, pacifying
only the desire of the moment and leaving an aching void and a
consciousness that man was made for higher and nobler things. Only
God can truly satisfy man’s needs.
The Gift of Jesus Christ as the atoning sacrifice
for man’s salvation is the door opener to this great grace
of God. In Christ is everything that man needs for life and godliness
(2 Pet 1:3). He is the true Fountain and the Bread of life that
satisfies. In him are the treasure of salvation, healing, deliverance,
hope, strength, peace, joy, wisdom and all the riches of glory.
These are priceless, but God offers them to us freely when we invite
His Son Jesus into our lives.
Listen to the voice of the Lord calling you today, “Come,
eat and drink freely. Come with your needs, burdens and problems
and I will give you rest (Matt 11:28). Come in faith; call upon
Me and I will answer you and show you the abundance of My mercy
and the beauty of my grace.”
