THE REDEMPTIVE
POWER OF CHRIST
Key Passage: Acts
26: 13 - 18
"So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He
said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. ‘But
rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for
this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of
the things which you have seen and of the things which I will
yet reveal to you. ‘I will deliver you from the Jewish
people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, ‘to
open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by
faith in Me.’”
The greatest life lived on earth is the life of Jesus Christ.
The greatest story told is the story of his conception, birth,
life, death and resurrection. The greatest sacrifice made is his
death on the cross of Calvary. And the greatest gift he gave is
his blood, which was the price for man’s redemption.
Christ is the greatest hope of a hopeless world, the true light to a lost
world, and the only answer to all of man’s questions. His power is
the greatest power ever experienced on the surface of the earth. That power
conceived him in a virgin’s womb. That same power endued him for
ministry, enabled him to do miracles, raised him from the dead and rests
on his living saints today.
Paul, called Saul, the persecutor of the Church, encountered that power
when he met the risen Jesus face to face. A bright light from Heaven knocked
him and his men down. There he heard the voice of the Master saying to
him, “I am the true Master. You cannot fight against me. You
heard the story that I am dead and gone, but now you know, I am alive and
around.” Paul cried, “Lord, who are you?” He
announced, “I am Jesus who you are persecuting…. But now,
I am putting your life on the reverse gear. Arise and Stand, for I appeared
to you for the very purpose of making you a minister and a witness of my
power. I’m sending you back to the world that sent you against Me
to proclaim My light; to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to
light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
and inheritance. I am handing to you the redemptive package that you may
hand it out to a lost world through the gospel.”
Satan’s dominion over man has been destroyed through Jesus’ death
on the cross of Calvary. Man is now free to serve God without fear, in
holiness and righteousness all the days of his life (Heb 2:14-15; Lk 1:74-75).
Therefore, arise in faith and begin to live by the power of God. You have
no reason to live under the power of a conquered foe.
Arise, stand
on your feet, and declare your victory over Satan and his kingdom
through the blood of Jesus Christ.
