The ministry of deliverance is a violent rescue mission initiated
by God and executed by His anointed servants to secure the release
of those under satanic bondages. These bondages come about when
Satan or his agents gain control over people’s lives. Such
lives are filled with disappointments, pain, agony and grief. God
wants such people to be set free through His power so that they
could live a fulfilling life and serve Him without inhibition.
Bondage could arise in several ways. It could come as a consequence
of ones sin against God (Jn 8: 34). Ecclesiastes 10: 8 reads, “He
who digs a pit will fall into it, and whoever breaks through a
wall will be bitten by a serpent.” Everyone is responsible
for the result of his sinful action, for whatever a man sows, he
reaps (Gal 6: 7). Bondage could also be inflicted through satanic
influences such as curses, witchcraft, enchantments and invocations.
In addition, Bondage could be inherited from ones parents or ancestors.
The Scripture reveals that the sins of the fathers are visited
on their offspring (Numb 14: 18).
Many people in our world, including some of God’s children
are suffering under some kinds of bondage. Whenever a child of
God is held under bondage, God is grieved and He is determined
to manifest His mighty power to set him free, if he will put his
trust in God. The people of Israel suffered terribly under the
Egyptian bondage for four hundred years. They cried out to God
and He heard them and sent Moses to delivered them. When Moses
arrived in Egypt, he was ready to confront Pharaoh in the name
of Jehovah the God of the Israelites. He had the Rod of God in
his hand and the vision of the deliverance of his people in his
heart. His demand to Pharaoh was succinct and unapologetic - “Let
My people go ….” And where Pharaoh refused to obey,
there was a repercussion - “I will smite your territory….” Pharaoh
was obstinate and had to incur the full weight of God’s wrath.
God smote Egypt with ten dreadful plagues that devastated Egypt
and humbled Pharaoh. At the end he had to let the Israelites Go.
Put your trust in the Lord today and cry to him for deliverance
and he will send help to you. He will break every yoke of the devil
over you and set you free by His mighty power (Is 10: 27).
